Lawrence Commission faces EEOC complaint

By Nancy Glasscock, Decatur Daily

A former applicant for Lawrence County payroll clerk filed a complaint Wednesday with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission alleging racial discrimination, attorney Gregg Smith said.

The person who filed the charge of discrimination is anonymous, in accordance with EEOC policies, Smith said.

The applicant applied for the job after the commission fired payroll clerk Myra Mason, who is suing the commission in federal court alleging the commission fired her because she is black.
