Moulton man arrested for failing to register as sex offender | Crime

Moulton, AL (WAFF) - Lawrence County investigators have arrested a man, saying he failed to register as a sex offender.

51 year old David Jones failed to show up for a quarterly appointment with law enforcement - a class C felony.

Lawrence County Sheriff Gene Mitchell said that his investigators monitor the sex offender registry closely to assure that offenders are reporting as required and that they are residing in the approved location. Mitchell said that Jones is currently being held in the Lawrence County Jail with no bond set due to a probation hold.
