Man arrested for Courtland copper theft | Crime

Lawrence County deputies have arrested and charged a man with burglary and theft after a month long investigation into copper thefts in Courtland.

26 year old Christopher Dale Sargent is being held on $7,500 bond.

Sheriff Gene Mitchell tells WAFF that the theft happened on County Road 400 back in early September. He says a construction site was raided and a majority of the copper wiring installed in the home was cut out. Sargent reported confessed to the crime. The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
