Authorities find marijuana at Moulton home, 2 arrested

Lawrence County Drug Task Force Agents, along with the assistance of the Moulton Police Department, executed a search warrant at 801 CR 240 in Moulton on Tuesday.   Sheriff Gene Mitchell said that DTF Agents arrested 28-year-old Ronnie Boyd Aldridge Jr. and 23-year-old Brenda Nicole Dobbins for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  He said that Dobbins was also charged with Obstructing a Government Operation and Resisting Arrest after she refused to comply with officers’ commands.

Also referred to as computerized tomographic colonography (CTC), virtual colonoscopy uses virtual reality technology to provide doctors with a 3-D image that enables them to conduct an evaluation of the entire colon and rectum. CTC is an alternative to colonoscopy for colorectal cancer screening.

3 people have been arrested after an investigation between the Moulton Police Department and Lawrence County Drug Task Force. Moulton Police officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on February 23rd and discovered ingredients used to make meth, along with an open container alcohol.

In a survey of 1,043 college students at the University of New Hampshire, almost half said they feel guilty about texting during class when it's not allowed. Even so, texting is quite common: 65 percent said they send at least one text message during a typical class.

Moulton woman arrested after month-long investigation into meth operation

Lawrence County Drug Task Force agents arrested Sherry Mae Keenum on Tuesday for unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance second degree.

Sheriff Gene Mitchell said the arrest comes after a month-long investigation which revealed several suspicious purchases of meth manufacturing ingredients.

Investigators said Keenum was buying the meth ingredients and then selling them to meth manufacturers for a higher price.

Sheriff Mitchell said that when agents went to Keenum’s home and confronted her, she confessed to the crimes. She is being held in the Lawrence County jail with no bond.

Moulton's 1st liquor license

The Moulton City Council has approved the city's first liquor license for a restaurant. In a unanimous vote Monday night, the council approved a liquor license for La Plaza Bonita off Alabama Highway 24.

The council approved the license after no discussion among council members and no comments from anyone there. Before the restaurant sells alcohol, it must get approval from the Alabama Beverage Control Board.
